The Federation of Community Legal Centre's commenced a two year project designed to support the Victorian CLC sector to improve the outcomes it achieves. The project aims to improve the sectors ability to articulate, measure and evaluate the outcomes of our work.
CHCLC is one of six participating CLCs working directly with an evaluation consultant who have provided training and participatory workshops to build the evaluation capacity of staff to monitor and evaluate the work of our service. Through this process, we have developed a Theory of Change and a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. These documents have provided a framework to monitor and evaluate our service, including guidance on methods for collecting data and how to analyse it.
Another objective of the project has been to develop a sector-wide outcomes framework with shared outcomes for all Victorian CLCs and an overarching framework they can use to measure the outcomes of their work. The monitoring and evaluation framework developed with participating CLCs aligns with the sector-wide outcomes framework. Information about the sector wide Monitoring and Evaluation Project can be found here.
Theory of Change - Stakeholder Input We were grateful to the various stakeholders who joined us to assist in planning our Theory of Change and lead to some very fruitful discussion regarding the work we do as a Centre for our community, and our over arching impact. From the conversations held with staff, volunteers and stakeholders, we have subsequently developed a Theory of Change which will be used to guide our Monitoring and Evaluation program into the new financial year.
Where to from here In the new financial year, CHCLC will be implementing a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework which will include gaining data from our clients, stakeholders and staff about the direct service delivery model. The aim of this research will be to gain an understanding of what we do well, where we can improve and how to best meet client and community needs. We should see some exciting changes at CHCLC in the coming year.
CHCLC would like to thank the following people for their assistance, patience and knowledge if helping us to undertake this project:
Rohan Thwaites - Project Manager - Federation of Community Legal Centres
